Bid Day
Running home to Alpha Chi Omega on bid day will always be one of our cherished memories. Our Alpha Chi sisters look forward to this day all year, because we get to celebrate and welcome new members into our lifetime of sisterhood. The lawn of Alpha Chi on bid day has never lacked love and laughter, and we know it never will.
New Member Experience
Starting on bid day, each new member receives “mystagogues”. A mystagogue is an older Alpha Chi sister who helps guide, mentor, acclimate, and befriend the new member. New Alpha Chi sisters will get a total of four mystagogues until their big sister revelation! Mystagogue pairing allows new members to meet the many different personalities of our sisterhood. A mystagogue is there to eat meals with, go to the library with, simply hang out with, and answer any questions!!
The Executive Board officer, Vice President of New Member Education (VP NME), is a pivotal person in the new members’ experience. The VP NME and her committee of six older sisters encourage each new member; meet bi-weekly with them; answer all questions; support their preparation for Initiation; and act as leaders for their transition into Alpha Chi. Our VP NME strives to provide our new members with the best experience possible!
New Member Retreat
In the past years, the new member class has gotten the opportunity to spend a weekend away in Panama City Beach, FL with each other. The weekend is full of bonding activities with one another, relaxing on the beach, and making memories with new sisters.
